This Privacy Policy describes how Homeschool Atlas (“we”, “us”) handles information when you use our marketing website and, when you create an account, the Homeschool Atlas application.
Who we are
Homeschool Atlas is a multi-tenant software service for families who track and plan home education. Household data is intended to be isolated between customers.
Information we collect
Depending on how you use the service, we may process:
- Account details (such as name, email, username, and authentication data)
- Household and student profile information you enter
- Instruction logs, plans, uploads, and related education records you create
- Technical logs needed to operate and secure the service (for example IP address, user agent, timestamps)
- Billing-related identifiers if and when paid plans are enabled (processed via our payment provider)
- Marketing waitlist email addresses if you opt in on the website
How we use information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the product
- To authenticate users and protect accounts
- To send transactional email (verification, password reset, invitations)
- To process subscriptions when billing is enabled
- To comply with law and enforce terms
Household isolation
Customer households are separated in the application. Members you invite can access your household’s data according to their role. Other customers cannot see your household’s records.
AI features
Optional AI features may send prompts derived from information you provide (for example student notes, recent log feedback, and curriculum candidates) to a configured model provider in order to generate suggestions. Parent approval is required before suggestions become part of a committed plan. Do not enter information you are not comfortable processing for that purpose.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may use subprocessors (hosting, email delivery, AI providers, payment processors) strictly to operate the service under appropriate agreements.
Retention & security
We retain information while your account is active and as needed for legitimate business and legal purposes. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards; no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
Your choices
You may update account information in the application, request deletion subject to legal retention needs, and control which household members have access.
Children
The service is designed for parents/guardians managing education records. Student accounts, when enabled, are created under adult household control.
